Roles in Society
Athenian Life
0-6:
In Athens (my cousin's place), if our fathers couldn't even afford to feed us as babies they would abandon us and if we were abandoned and someone took us in their house then we were to become slaves. If you are a rich Athenian boy/girl the people will give lots of gifts and your father will carry you around town.
6-14:
If you are are a rich Athenian boy, you go to school from sunrise to sunset; during school you learn painting, drawing arithmetic, writing, and reading. If you are a girl then you find yourself in a series of learning the basic skills (that women need in their lives for their respect); running the slaves arithmetic, reading, writing, and skills for running the household. If you are a slave you work for your owners till you marry.
14-18:
If you are an adolescent boy that means you drop school and start getting fit. You attend sports festival like the Olympics and
you do lots of physical training; you attend sporting events such as discuss,shot-put, chariot racing, wrestling, pankatron and running races and many other occurrences. If you are a girl you marry at 15 and start bearing children.
18-20:
If you are a teenage boy, you drop your physical training and start becoming a military soldier. You do basic military things until you are 20. At 20 you graduate from the military and become a full citizen. If you are a teenage woman, you are now a mother, you are in command of the slaves, and run the household.
Adulthood:
If you are a women your life remains the same until, your husband dies. If you are a man, you become a full citizen go to the Assembly (if you are drawn out of lot), vote and go to theatre, go to debates and be an audience to the Olympics, and spend little time with your children.
Spartan Life:
If you are a Spartan baby then a Spartan soldier would come and check you. If you are healthy that means they would join in the brotherhood or sisterhood of Spartan soldiers depending on which your mother or father is on. If you are not healthy that means the baby would become a slave (a helot). When you become a Spartan boy/girl you start school at 6 and you don't see your parents and you don't live in your home. You live in the barracks of your brotherhood/sisterhood. You are needed basic skills for survival and warfare. Spartan soldiers also taught reading and writing because if you do not know reading and writing what's the point of speaking your language??But mostly it was warfare that was needed. When you start marching, you march without shoes to make you stronger. You won't be fed well but you will be encouraged to steal and if you steal and get caught that means you get beaten brutally. One time a friend of mine took a chicken and planned killing it and eating it but then some Spartan soliders found that he was stealing and he got beaten cruelly. You will learn's Spartan's motto "Lie,cheat, steal and get away with it or else there will be consequences." When you turn 20 you will find yourself taking a fitness test and if you pass this test you become a first-class citizen and a Spartan soldier. If you don't pass that means you become a perikios. As a perikios you can have business dealings and own properties however you are not a citizen and do not have any political rights. You get married when you are 30 but then you still live with your brotherhood. You spend your Life in the Military until you are 60 then you get to live with your wife and children. If you are a girl you have the same life as a boy except when you have the fitness test. If you pass you get married and go home and bear children and if you don't you become a perikios. Unlike most city states, Spartan women got the freedom to move and they could even visit a neighbour next door without permission from their husbands.

Houses
Welcome to my house! I will give you a tour of it! My house is an left over from an Ancient Greek House but here is what it used to be like before it got destroyed. First it has the courtyard the main hallway it consists of people who feel like exploring the house. The store room is the supplies for the store just in case the supplies in the store room run out. The store in the house is the place where all the supplies are stored for the slaves to use in. Let's say you run out of supplies from the supply store, then the slaves make the supplies from the kitchen which is also used to get food to bring to the dining room. Dining rooms are used to eat also are the main places for symposium (a type of Greek party). Then we have a bathroom which is put in a cauldron and people took out their waste. Next of what we see is my bedroom bearing a bed and tables and a candle.
So this is my house. Now come I have to show you the food!

Food
The Ancient Greeks had the most delicious food. They had goats for milk and cheese and grew olives the national dish of Athens and in the plains they grew wheat and made bread. They also ate fish, seafood, and drank home made wine. For meat, it was only used in religious sacrifices.
Clothing/Fashion
The Greek clothing style was yet so simple but yet interesting. It mostly were tunics and warm cloaks. The tunics were made out of linen which was used for the summer. The warm cloaks were made out of wool and were used for winter. Some people bought their clothes in the agora (a market place) but the disadvantage was that it was too expensive and instead, they made it by themselves but mostly it was made by the mother, her female daughters and the female slaves. The perfume used both by men and women were made by by the scents of boiling flowers and herbs. The first greek hat the brimmed pestatoes was the first ancient Greek Hat ever invented. It was a hat use for protection fro the weather and also was used for fashion.
Greek Alphabet
The Greeks learned these alphabet words before school started in their lives:
Theatre
Your family may think that the movies aren't important today but in Ancient Greece the theatre was actually a big deal .The whole audience bench got filled with 15000 people each play. There was two rules in theatre women nor slaves couldn't act nor watch the theatre because it was a rule. The men also played the women parts for each play. There were 3 types of play categories for Theatre and Drama:
- Tragedies: Tragedies were plays with sad beginnings, middles and ends.
- Comedies: Comedies were plays with happy beginnings, middles and ends.
- Satires: Were jokes that made fun of political leaders or other mortals.
Architecture in Ancient Greece
The Architecture in Ancient Greece was very fascinating. There were three types of orders or designs: The Doric Order, the Ionic, and the Corinthian Order. Every type of design need two types of stairs a stylobate and a stereobate. In the Ionic order consisted of drum columns. The Corithian order beared fillet columns and the Ionic order consisted of a flute column. The Doric order was used to make the Parthenenon. The Oldest style of Greek architecture was the Corinthian. Then we, the Athenians created the Parthenon with great hope and dersirebility to represent the Mark of Athena. The Corinthian Order was used on the Temple of Artemis.
